Grants of up to $5,000 to Sweet Home, Oregon nonprofit organizations to improve the quality of life for local residents. The goal of the grant program is to support a wide variety of community projects. Funding is intended for the following broad categories: education, community livability, arts and culture, and children and families.

Projects that successfully compete for grants generally include the following:
- Improve the Quality of Life in Sweet Home
- Have Broad Community Support and/or Foster Community Involvement
- Have a Lasting, Beneficial Effect
- Have a Positive Track Record for Completing Projects

The Foundation provides charitable programs and services for the residents of the general region around Sweet Home, Oregon, in order to provide better health care services, better educational opportunities, more accessible housing, and food for low-income people and related services, and to lessen the burden on local government in providing adequate programs to meet these basic human needs

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants of between $250 and $2,500 are awarded but consideration will be given to requests up to $5,000 based upon the project need and quality.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grant applicants must be a 501(c) 3 or other qualified tax-exempt organization or the proposed project may be implemented in partnership or affiliation with such an organization.

Projects that are not eligible for Sweet Home Community Foundations grants:
- Direct grants, scholarships, or loans to individuals
- Endowments
- General fund drives or annual appeals
- Projects of sectarian or religious organizations whose principal benefit is for their own members or adherents
- Debt retirement or operational deficits

Pre-Application Information:

The 2019 Sweet Home Community Foundation Grant Cycle will run from January 15 though February 15, 2019.

Application must be received by mail no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 15, 2019.

Grant award recipients will be announced in March.
